Moving in the Holy Spirit

“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God.” Romans 8:14

Most of us are accustomed to listening to the voice of God. This helps us to know the direction and the will of God. However, there is another guidance by the Holy Spirit and that is by moving in the Holy Spirit. I would like to share this with you.

First we have to make sure that we have the Holy Spirit.

In Romans 8:9 (NIV):

"You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ." 

In general, I will teach about in the move in the Holy Spirit only when our members can speak in tongues. Speaking in tongues is speaking the spiritual language by the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is not that we try to move our own tongue.

The second prerequisite is to have the fruit of the Holy Spirit, especially the change in our lifestyle. We can say that the fire of God has cleansed our lives from evil things. What is left is love and peace. If any member at the Christian Center does not live his life in truth and is not eager to learn, that person will be asked to leave. Because living life in truth is fundamental to living in the Holy Spirit. Our members need to cultivate or grow in their spiritual lives. They may face many trials in many forms. This will be discussed in the meeting. I usually share my own trials with them. The sharing and the discussion we have together helps me to understand them and know if they grow up spiritually or not.

Example of moving in the Holy Spirit. 

One day a pastor from Chiang Rai visited us and led the worship. While we were singing I felt the Holy Spirit would like me to do something. I stood up in order to be ready to move according to His will. I looked around the room and then saw sitting opposite me a woman in her middle age. I did not know her before. So I decided to walk to her and whispered in her ear what the Holy Spirit guided me to speak, “The Lord knows your pain. He will help in good time. Do not worry.” Then I stood up waiting for His lead to the next person. But there was nothing. So I went back to my seat. We continued singing worship songs. No one knew about this. Then the Pastor shared the words of God. When she finished, we prayed a closing prayer and everybody went back home.

Later on this woman came to apply for a job at our resort. She passed the interview by HR personnel and got a job. She has attended the meeting at the Christian Center ever since. Later on I taught her how to move in the Holy Spirit.

My vision of a house in Germany 

About two years ago, God arouse me about Germany. Someone that I know proposed to sell a hotel in Germany. I thought it might be used as a meeting place for Thai Christians in Germany. But we did not have any conclusion about that. Later on a lady in our group saw a vision of a house in Germany. In her vision the house was on the hill. So we looked for a house in Southern Part of the country because there it is hilly especially near the border of Switzerland and France. But we could not find any house that was similar to the vision.

On the first day of the World Gathering in November 2016 in Jerusalem I came to understand clearly about the Kingdom of God that already came to this World. The next day a thought popped in my head about the reason I needed to buy a house in Germany. Due to the slaughter of millions of Jews, the first- born of God during World War II, German people need to repent and ask for forgiveness. Having a piece of land in Germany I will become like a German people. I can represent them and ask for forgiveness from God. Sounds crazy? Yes, it sounds crazy and I dare not tell anyone.

When I came back from Israel, I received an e-mail from a German pastor. He wanted to sell a house on the hill in the South. I sent the picture to a lady who saw this vision two years ago. She was surprised as it was similar to her vision. Then she contacted the owner of the house in order to visit and see with her eyes. Buying a house in Europe is a great sum of money. Moreover, I have no idea what to do with the house. So I decided to write to the lady who is prayer warrior and used to pray for me when I came to work in Samui Island. She used to prophecy for me and it was one hundred percent correct. She replied with the verses from Judges (Gideon) 6:38,40. The story was about Gideon who received the command from God to help Israel. But he thought he was nobody and he was not able to carry out his assignment. So he asked a sign from God, that the fleece was wet while the ground around the fleece dry. And he asked for the reverse on the next day. God granted his request. When I finished reading her reply, I thought that I myself should also ask two signs from God.

But when I came to think carefully, I found that the signs that I wanted to see, Gideon had already asked for me. In this era of the Holy Spirit we only need a confirmation whether the vision we receive comes from God or not. If it does, then it is OK to follow that vision. So I wrote back to her and thanked her for the reply. I said I was ready to carry on my assignment in Germany. However, when the lady who received the vision of the house went to look at the house, she was not sure. So I waited for the Lord to reveal to me more clearly.

Going to Germany and buying a house is a big thing for me. It costs many millions baht and it is not easy for me. In this case I could not move like the first example (the case of a lady whom I whispered in her ear). I told you this story so you can see how to move with the Holy Spirit without listening to the voice of God directly.

In moving in the Holy Spirit, in the beginning we should move like in the first example. Be sensitive to the Holy Spirit and your move will be more precise and more correct. If you feel something then you should move, like standing up or looking around and wait for His prompt for the next move. Then go and do as He prompts you. If not, just walk back and wait. Don’t be afraid to be wrong. Not very long you will move in the Holy Spirit better and more correctly.

An imperfect move. 

There was a lady who has been Christian for a long time. One day she came to worship with us. She was surprised why her experiences with the Holy Spirit were different from ours. So she asked one of our members to lay hand on her in order to receive the Holy Spirit again. (She knew that I did not lay hands on anyone.) During worship she had a strong intention to receive the Holy Spirit but nothing happened. When we stopped singing, I asked the member who sat next to her, “Why didn’t you lay hand on her?”. She replied, “Because she wanted that senior member to lay hand on her”. But I told her, “If the Lord wants you to do it, you have to do it. No matter what people want.” Then I asked the lead singer why she stopped singing. She said, “No one was able to sing the song I chose”. I told her, “If God tells you to sing a song, then you have to sing”. Both of them said sorry and said next time they would listen to the Holy Spirit instead of their own thinking. A moment later, the lady who visited us received the Holy Spirit with speaking in tongues and prophecy.

What do we learn from this experience? 

When the Holy Spirit prompts you to do something, it does not matter what men want you to do. You need to obey the Holy Spirit as much as possible, if there is no danger in doing what He prompts you to do. Laying hands and singing songs are not dangerous, therefore we should do it. Practice to move with the Holy Spirit until you are more sensitive. Try to obey and move with the Holy Spirit if there is no danger in following Him. We should practice moving with the Holy Spirit especially in the easy things, until we are keen enough. Later we can move with Him in daily life. Many things in real life are risky and moving in the Holy Spirit in daily life is only for those who are keen and sensitive to the lead of God.

The correct move 

During 3G Summit, our members at the Christian Center were excited to be able to get close to the leaders from around the world and to be blessed by them. One of our members, a gardener, was the first to run up to the stage. At first she intended to get blessings from the leaders. She thought it would be a wonderful experience. But while she was on the stage waiting for the leaders to bless her, she started to speak in tongues and blessed them instead. She was surprised at herself. The leaders who came and blessed her were also surprised to see her speak in tongues. This is an example of moving in the Holy Spirit. Even though she intended to receive the blessings, she, instead, blessed them according to the Holy Spirit’s guidance.

From the examples that I gave, you can see that if we want to move in the Holy Spirit we should obey God, not men or our flesh. Making decision to follow God’s command may not be according to the Laws or the Bible every time.
